News - Newark station

As part of a nationwide project, Oakland has installed 2 new lifts at Newark station, to allow Passengers to move between platforms much more quickly and easily than before.

The lifts are not only used by disabled passengers, but also by those with large amounts of luggage and even bicycles.

Each lift is installed within its own steel tower, which is provided by others and linked by a covered walkway that spans the tracks between the main entrance and island platforms.
